An Orlando night starts early if you have little kids and late if it is a trip for grown-ups. Everything below was checked on official websites in October 2026. Showtimes and attraction hours change from day to day, so check again the day you go.
What nighttime shows do the Orlando parks have?
The four big closing shows are Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom, Luminous The Symphony of Us at EPCOT, Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios and Universal Celestial Goodnight at Epic Universe. All of them require that day’s park ticket.
- Happily Ever After (Magic Kingdom). An 18-minute show of fireworks, lights and projections on Cinderella Castle. Disney notes that parts of Frontierland and Tomorrowland also have a view of the fireworks, with smaller crowds but no projections.
- Luminous The Symphony of Us (EPCOT). Fireworks, fountains and music over World Showcase Lagoon. On October 6, 2026, it was scheduled for 9 p.m.
- Fantasmic! (Hollywood Studios). A 30-minute open-air musical in an amphitheater around a lagoon. Disney lets you arrive up to 90 minutes early, and the front rows may get wet. On October 6, 2026, there were two shows, at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
- Universal Celestial Goodnight (Epic Universe). It debuted on July 7, 2026, and Universal says it runs nightly at park close, with fountains, lights and fireworks across Celestial Park.
One thing to watch: on October 6, 2026, the Happily Ever After page listed no performance, and that date was also one of the separate-ticket Halloween party nights at Magic Kingdom. During party season, check the calendar before you pick your Magic Kingdom day. Where to stand and how to beat the crowd is covered in Disney and Universal fireworks shows.
What time does it get dark in Orlando?
It gets dark between 5:30 and 6 p.m. in winter and not until after 8:30 p.m. in early summer. That sets the fireworks time and how long the kids have to stay up. The times below come from the U.S. Naval Observatory for Orlando, with daylight saving time applied when it is in effect.
| Date (2027) | Sunset | End of civil twilight |
|---|---|---|
| January 15 | 5:51 p.m. | 6:16 p.m. |
| March 15 | 7:34 p.m. | 7:57 p.m. |
| April 15 | 7:51 p.m. | 8:15 p.m. |
| June 21 | 8:26 p.m. | 8:53 p.m. |
| July 15 | 8:25 p.m. | 8:51 p.m. |
| October 15 | 6:56 p.m. | 7:20 p.m. |
| December 15 | 5:31 p.m. | 5:57 p.m. |

On a summer vacation, the fireworks land late in the evening. Over winter break, it is dark before 6:20 p.m. and the night feels longer.
Where can you go at night without a park ticket?
The two easiest options are Disney Springs and Universal CityWalk. Both are free to enter and have restaurants, live music and shops. More no-cost ideas are in free things to do in Orlando.
Disney Springs. Disney’s shopping, dining and entertainment district needs no ticket. Standard self-parking is free, according to Disney, while theme park parking costs $35 a day. The big evening ticket here is Drawn to Life, a Cirque du Soleil and Disney show sold separately. The full rundown is in what to do at Disney Springs.
Universal CityWalk. It sits at the entrance to the Universal parks, and you can walk in without a park ticket. Universal offers free self-parking after 6 p.m., except on Halloween Horror Nights nights. Inside you will find Red Coconut Club, with two floors of music and dancing, Pat O’Brien’s dueling pianos, CityWalk’s Rising Star, karaoke with a live band, Hard Rock Live for concerts and comedy, Hollywood Drive-In Golf and the Universal Cinemark theater. The official map notes that age restrictions may apply at some venues.
ICON Park and The Orlando Eye. On International Drive, The Orlando Eye observation wheel gives a 20-minute ride with 360-degree views. ICON Park lists tickets starting at $29.99 per adult and free parking on floors 4 through 7 of its garage. Check the hours: on October 6 and 7, 2026, the wheel was open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you want city lights, confirm that day’s closing time.
What is there to do in Kissimmee at night?
Kissimmee has three easy evening plans: Old Town, Fun Spot and Medieval Times. All of them are close to the vacation home resorts in the area.
Old Town. The shopping and rides center on US-192 is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The weekly draw is the cars, and watching is free:
- Wednesday, 6 to 10 p.m.: motorcycle show;
- Friday: muscle car show, with the cruise at 8:30 p.m.;
- Saturday: classic cars built before 1985, with the cruise at 8:30 p.m.
Fun Spot America. The Kissimmee coaster and go-kart park is open every day until midnight. Admission and parking are free, and you only pay to ride. That way, only the riders in your group need a wristband.
More ideas for the area are in things to do in Kissimmee.
What dinner shows are there in Orlando?
The two best known are Medieval Times in Kissimmee and Pirates Dinner Adventure in Orlando. Both are operating in 2026 and sell tickets with dinner included.
| Show | Where | What is included, per the official site |
|---|---|---|
| Medieval Times | 4510 W. Vine St., Kissimmee | Tournament with six knights, jousting and sword fights, a four-course feast and two rounds of select non-alcoholic drinks |
| Pirates Dinner Adventure | Orlando | 90-minute pre-show and a 90-minute show aboard a pirate ship, with a three-course dinner |
Both show times and prices only at checkout, and prices vary by date. In 2026, Pirates Dinner Adventure is running its Halloween version, called Vampirates.
What night events happen in each season?
From August through early January there is almost always a separate-ticket night event. These dates come from the official pages.
- Halloween Horror Nights (Universal Studios Florida): select nights from August 28 to November 1, 2026, starting at 6:30 p.m. More in is Halloween Horror Nights worth it.
- Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (Magic Kingdom): select nights through October 31, 2026, from 7 p.m. to midnight. Every 2026 date has sold out.
- Universal Nights (Epic Universe): an after-hours event from 9 p.m. to midnight. The last 2026 date is Saturday, October 17. Tickets start at $179.99 plus tax.
- Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (Magic Kingdom): select nights from November 8 to December 22, 2026, from 7 p.m. to midnight.
- Disney Jollywood Nights (Hollywood Studios): select nights from November 7, 2026, to January 5, 2027, from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
What can you do in Orlando at night with kids?
With kids, the best night is short and close to home. Watch the fireworks from a quieter spot in Magic Kingdom, have dinner at Disney Springs, see the classic cars at Old Town on a Saturday or let the older kids ride at Fun Spot while the little ones watch for free. Disney’s Halloween and Christmas parties are built for families. Halloween Horror Nights is not.
What about date night or a group of adults?
For adults, the night goes further at CityWalk, with karaoke, dueling pianos and a dance floor, and at Drawn to Life at Disney Springs. Horror fans have Halloween Horror Nights, and Universal Nights is a way to see Epic Universe after dark. More ideas for the whole trip are in what to do in Orlando without kids.
Is it worth staying in at the vacation home?
Yes, especially after a full park day. A vacation home gives you a kind of evening a hotel room cannot: a lit pool after dinner, burgers on the grill, a round in the game room if the house has one and a movie night in the living room with everyone together. It costs nothing, there is no line and the kids get to bed on time. If the pool is open at night, agree that one adult is always watching.
In practice: mix it up. Do fireworks on one or two nights of the trip, plan one free evening out (Disney Springs, CityWalk or Old Town on a Saturday) and keep the rest for the house. Your family will still have energy on the last park day.
If you want to stay close to all of this, see our vacation homes near Disney and homes with a private pool.
A home to come back to after the fireworks
After the show, heading back to a house with a living room, a full kitchen and a pool changes how the day ends. When you book direct, the final price with cleaning and taxes is shown before payment, and support is available 24/7 in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
