Disney Springs is the easy win on a Disney vacation: no ticket, open late, and right inside Walt Disney World. Whether you drove down from Atlanta or flew in for a long weekend, it fits between park days. Everything below was checked on official sites in October 2026.

What is Disney Springs and does it cost anything to get in?

Disney Springs is Walt Disney World’s shopping, dining and entertainment district, and admission is free. Visit Orlando, the city’s official tourism bureau, describes it as a walkable, open-air complex with four neighborhoods and more than 150 restaurants, shops and activities.

You only pay for what you buy. On October 6, 2026, Disney’s official listings showed 88 shops, 63 places to eat and 18 attractions and shows. Some of the entertainment is free, including live music on the outdoor stages and the murals of the Art Walk.

Is parking free at Disney Springs?

Yes, standard self-parking at Disney Springs is free. That is a real saving compared with the four theme parks, where parking is $35 a day unless you stay at a Disney hotel, as we cover in our guide to Disney World and Universal parking.

What Disney says about the garages:

  • On regular days, the garages open at 9 a.m.
  • On special merchandise days, including every Tuesday for new pin releases, garages and rideshare loops open at 7 a.m. Cars may not line up before 7.
  • The garages are named Orange, Lime and Grapefruit, and there is a surface lot, Watermelon, in front of the Cirque du Soleil theater.
  • For a dining reservation or a show, Disney asks you to arrive at least an hour early, and up to two hours during holidays and peak periods because of traffic.

What are the four areas of Disney Springs?

Disney Springs is split into Marketplace, The Landing, Town Center and West Side. You can walk the whole thing, but each area has its own feel. The table shows where Disney places some of the most popular spots.

AreaFeelExamples
MarketplaceThe most family oriented, with Disney stores and kiddie ridesWorld of Disney, The LEGO Store, Disney’s Days of Christmas, Rainforest Cafe, T-REX, carousel and train
The LandingWaterfront dining and barsThe BOATHOUSE and Amphicar tours, Raglan Road, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, Gideon’s Bakehouse

What are the best shops at Disney Springs?

The one almost everyone visits is World of Disney, which Disney bills as the world’s largest collection of Disney merchandise. It is in the Marketplace and was open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. when we checked.

Other stores worth the walk:

  • The LEGO Store: a Pick-A-Brick wall, giant Disney models and the LEGO Minifigure Factory, where you design your own minifigure (book ahead).
  • Disney’s Days of Christmas: a year-round Christmas shop with ornaments and stockings.
  • Coca-Cola Store: exclusive merchandise and a rooftop beverage bar with a view.
  • UNIQLO and ZARA: both in Town Center. Disney notes UNIQLO carries exclusive Disney items.
  • Star Wars Galactic Outpost: toys, apparel and collectibles on the West Side.

If you are after brand names at outlet prices, the area’s outlet malls are a better bet. Disney Springs shines for Disney merchandise and the stroll itself.

Where to eat at Disney Springs?

There is something for every budget, from snack kiosks to steakhouses. Disney rates each spot by the average price of an adult dinner entrée, before alcohol, tax and tip:

Disney price rangeAverage adult entréeExamples at Disney Springs
$$14.99 and underChicken Guy!, Earl of Sandwich, D-Luxe Burger, The Polite Pig, Everglazed Donuts
$$$15 to $34.99Rainforest Cafe, T-REX, Raglan Road, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, Jaleo, Planet Hollywood
$$$$35 to $59.99The BOATHOUSE, Morimoto Asia, Paddlefish, STK Steakhouse

Rainforest Cafe and T-REX, themed to the jungle and to dinosaurs, are the kid favorites, and Disney strongly recommends reservations at both. Visit Orlando points out the celebrity chef lineup: José Andrés (Jaleo and Pepe), Masaharu Morimoto, Art Smith, Rick Bayless (Frontera Cocina) and Maneet Chauhan (eet). For dessert, Gideon’s Bakehouse is known for oversized cookies, and Amorette’s Patisserie makes cakes, handy if you are planning a birthday at Disney World.

What is there to do at Disney Springs besides shopping?

Beyond shops and restaurants, Disney Springs has a balloon ride, a lake tour, a Cirque du Soleil show, a cinema, bowling and live music. Prices below are as published by Disney in October 2026.

AttractionAreaOfficial price
Aerophile tethered helium balloon, 8 minute flightWest Side$29.99 adults (10 and up), $24.99 children (3 to 9), plus tax
Vintage Amphicar, 20 minute guided lake tourThe Landing$125 per car, seats 3 to 4
Marketplace Carousel and Marketplace Train ExpressMarketplace$5 per ride or $10 for two

The balloon rises up to 400 feet, and on clear days you can see up to 10 miles. Tickets are sold on site, first come, first served. It does not fly during storms or when winds exceed 22 mph. Amphicar tours can only be booked in person at the dock or inside The BOATHOUSE shop.

Drawn to Life is the Cirque du Soleil show created with Disney as a love letter to animation. When we checked, performances ran Wednesday to Saturday at 5:30 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 and 4 p.m., with no shows Monday or Tuesday. It runs 90 minutes with no intermission, and tickets are sold by Cirque du Soleil.

More indoor options:

  • AMC Disney Springs 24: Dolby Cinema plus 10 dine-in auditoriums with food served to your recliner.
  • Splitsville Luxury Lanes: two floors of bowling, billiards and a restaurant. Book lanes by phone or online.
  • House of Blues: a concert hall for up to 2,000 guests with a full restaurant. The lineup and tickets are on the House of Blues Orlando website.
  • LEVEL99: new, with more than 60 physical and puzzle challenges designed for adults and teens.

Free live music plays on several stages. On the day we checked, the AdventHealth Waterside Stage had sets at 6:45, 7:45, 9:05 and 10 p.m., and the Fountain Stage hourly from 6 to 9 p.m. In Town Center, the Art Walk shows murals by local and international artists.

What is Disney Springs like at Christmas?

At Christmas, Disney Springs becomes one of the best free holiday outings in Orlando. Disney’s holiday season runs November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027, which covers Thanksgiving week and winter break. According to the Disney Parks Blog, Disney Springs will have:

  • the Christmas Tree Stroll, a trail of decorated trees themed to Disney, Pixar and Star Wars;
  • nightly “snowfall” in Town Center;
  • Santa Claus visits through December 24;
  • regional bands on select nights at the AdventHealth Waterside Stage;
  • a limited-time Hallmark holiday pop-up store, set to open in early October.

Visiting in October? Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar gets a Halloween makeover with a themed menu through November 9, 2026, and Disney lists costumed street performers. For the full December lineup, see Christmas in Orlando.

When is the best time to go to Disney Springs?

The best time is late afternoon into the evening. The stages have live music after dark, the balloon flies until 11 p.m., and the shops and restaurants we checked were open until 11 p.m. Mornings are quieter, but many places do not open until 10 or 11 a.m.

Disney Springs also works as a rainy day plan, with a catch: it is open-air, so you walk outside between buildings. The cinema, bowling, LEVEL99, Drawn to Life and the big stores are indoors. The balloon stops in storms. For more ideas, see things to do in Orlando on a rainy day.

Give yourself extra time on weekends, holiday weekends and the weeks around Christmas and New Year’s, when Disney itself suggests allowing up to two hours for traffic.

How does Disney Springs fit into a park-free day from a vacation home?

Disney Springs is a natural fit for a rest day between parks. Disney’s free buses and boats to Disney Springs are for Disney hotel guests. From a vacation home in Kissimmee or Davenport, you will drive or take a rideshare, and the car parks for free. If you are still weighing a rental car, read do you need a car in Orlando.

A plan that works:

  1. Morning at the pool and lunch at the house.
  2. Leave mid-afternoon to beat the dinner traffic.
  3. Hit the big stores first, while bags are light and kids still have energy.
  4. Dinner with a reservation, then the balloon, live music or Drawn to Life.

In practice: save Disney Springs for a day off from the parks and leave the house mid-afternoon. Do World of Disney and The LEGO Store before dinner, book your restaurant ahead and keep the balloon and the stages for after dark. If Drawn to Life is on your list, pick a day from Wednesday to Sunday.
