Methodology

  • Source: nightly rates for Orlando Best Place homes synced from Rentals United, plus the pricing rules of our booking system (cleaning, tax, discounts).
  • Simulated stays: 7 nights checking in on the second Saturday of each month, from November 2026 to October 2027. That is 12 stays per home, 780 in total.
  • Calculation: the same as a real quote. Each night’s rate, plus cleaning, plus extra guest and service fees when they exist, minus a weekly discount when it exists, plus tax on everything.
  • Median: for each home, the median of its 12 stays; for each group, the median across homes. The median keeps one very expensive home from skewing the result.
  • Not included: real availability, optional extras, coupons, card currency conversion fees.
  • Excluded: homes without a price in at least 9 of the 12 months.
  • Updates: recalculated every time the site is published. Latest: October 12, 2026. Data version: OBP-IX-20261012-1yp5h0b (generated 2026-10-12T04:00:54.924Z UTC, methodology 1.0). JSON data: /data/cost-index.json
