For a lot of families, the nighttime show is the part of the park day they talk about on the drive home. It is also the moment when everyone in the park decides to leave together. Here is what runs at each park, under its official name, as checked on the Disney and Universal websites in October 2026.
What Disney World parks have fireworks?
Two Disney parks have fireworks on regular operating nights: Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Hollywood Studios has Fantasmic!, which uses pyrotechnics, plus a projection show. Animal Kingdom has no fireworks. According to planDisney, Disney’s own Q&A panel, the reason is to avoid upsetting the park’s animals at night.

What is the Magic Kingdom fireworks show?
It is Happily Ever After: 18 minutes of fireworks, lasers and projections on Cinderella Castle and down Main Street, U.S.A., set to new versions of familiar Disney songs.
Disney points to Main Street and the area in front of the castle as the main viewing spot. It also notes that you can see the fireworks from parts of Frontierland and Tomorrowland, which are usually less crowded but miss the projections. With small kids, that trade is often worth it.
Watch for party nights. On Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party dates, the park belongs to party ticket holders in the evening. On October 6, 2026, a party night, the official Happily Ever After page showed no performance that day. Disney also says its nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, does not run on those nights.
Outside the park, Disney runs the Electrical Water Pageant, a 15-minute parade of lighted floats on Seven Seas Lagoon. It is seen from the beaches of the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness and Contemporary resorts.
What is the EPCOT nighttime show?
It is Luminous The Symphony of Us, with fireworks, fountains, lights and an original score over World Showcase Lagoon. On October 6, 2026, the official page listed it at 9:00 p.m. The lagoon is big, so there are viewing spots all the way around it. If you want a faster walk to the car, stay on the side closest to the main entrance.
What runs at night at Hollywood Studios?
Two shows: Fantasmic! and Wonderful World of Animation.
- Fantasmic! runs 30 minutes, with Mickey taking on the Disney villains through water effects, stunts and pyrotechnics. In October 2026, the official page listed shows at 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Disney opens seating up to 90 minutes early and warns that the front rows may get wet.
- Wonderful World of Animation is a 12-minute projection show on the Chinese Theatre facade, covering more than 90 years of Disney and Pixar films. It was listed at 9:00 p.m.
Does Universal Orlando have fireworks?
Yes. The nightly fireworks show is at Epic Universe. At the other two parks, nighttime shows run in seasons and on select nights.
- Universal Studios Florida. CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular debuted on June 14, 2024, on the park’s lagoon. It pairs movie scores with fountains, projections, pyrotechnics and drones.
- Islands of Adventure. Hogwarts Always, which debuted the same day, is a projection show on Hogwarts castle in Hogsmeade that follows a school year at Hogwarts.
In 2026, Universal included both in its summer lineup, May 23 to August 10, on select nights. Outside that window, check the app to see whether either is running on your date.
Does Epic Universe have a fireworks show?
Yes. Universal Celestial Goodnight debuted on July 7, 2026, and runs nightly at park close. Universal says it uses nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, more than 350 fountains and seven million LED lights, ending with fireworks. It fills Celestial Park, the hub of the park. Universal says you can watch from most of Celestial Park and that the best view is near Cosmos Fountain. Parking, hours and the rest of the day are in our Epic Universe guide.
Are there special fireworks for Halloween, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and the 4th of July?
Yes, and several need a party ticket.
- Halloween. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, 12 minutes of fireworks, lasers and projections, runs only during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. In 2026, that means select nights from August 7 to October 31.
- Christmas. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks is presented only during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. At Hollywood Studios, Sunset Seasons Greetings dresses the Tower of Terror in holiday scenes. At Universal, Hogwarts castle gets The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle projection show from November 14, 2026, to January 3, 2027. The full season is in Christmas in Orlando.
- New Year’s Eve. Disney lists special New Year’s Eve fireworks at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Whether you can see park fireworks from outside the gates, and what else happens that night, is covered in New Year’s Eve in Orlando.
- 4th of July. Disney lists patriotic fireworks at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. The holiday details are in the 4th of July in Orlando.
How do I check what time the fireworks are tonight?
Check the official app on the day itself. Showtimes shift through the year, and any outdoor show can be canceled for weather.
- Disney: the My Disney Experience app or the Entertainment Schedule on the website. Disney notes that times are subject to change.
- Universal: the Universal Orlando Resort app. On the park map, filter by “Entertainment” to see times and locations.
If you want a guaranteed spot, you can pay for one. At Magic Kingdom, Disney sells fireworks dessert parties with a reserved, standing-room viewing area for Happily Ever After. Park admission is required and not included. Disney also offers private fireworks cruises to watch Magic Kingdom or EPCOT from the water, starting at $499 plus tax for up to 10 guests.
How do you get back to your vacation home after the fireworks?
Expect lines. When the show ends, almost everyone heads for the parking lot at the same time.
At Magic Kingdom, the parking lot is at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), not at the park gate. From the castle to your car, you take the monorail or the ferryboat to the TTC, then the tram to your section. That monorail runs until one hour after Magic Kingdom closes. The EPCOT monorail, which links that park to the TTC, runs until two hours after EPCOT closes.
At the other Disney parks and at Universal, you walk or take a tram to your car. Snap a photo of your section sign when you arrive, because every rental car looks the same at night. Prices, rules and Epic Universe parking are in Disney and Universal parking.
In practice: with toddlers or older relatives, watch from a spot closer to the exit and start walking as soon as the show ends. At Magic Kingdom, the ferry and the monorail split the crowd, so take whichever has the shorter line. Leave water and a snack in the car for the drive back to the house.
To keep that drive short, browse our vacation homes near Disney.
