Motorcycles pay the car rate at Disney, Universal and Legoland. If you are driving down in an RV, pulling a camper or bringing a bus for a group, expect $40 at Disney, $45 at Universal and $45 plus tax at Legoland (pay on site). Disney, SeaWorld and Aquatica all say parking fees are nonrefundable.
How does Disney World parking work?
You pay $35 once and the pass is good all day at all four Disney theme parks. Do Magic Kingdom in the morning and EPCOT at night, and you pay one fee. Disney adds one caveat: parking is subject to availability, so paying does not guarantee a spot if you leave and come back later or switch parks.
Preferred parking. It costs $50, $55 or $60 depending on the season, and the lots sit close to the park entrance. It pays off with toddlers or someone who cannot walk far.
Trams. Free trams run at all four theme parks, from the lot to the main entrance. At Magic Kingdom, the tram stops at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), not at the park. From the TTC you take the monorail or a ferryboat to the gate. The monorail starts 30 minutes before Magic Kingdom opens and stops an hour after it closes.
Free parking. Standard parking at Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Disney Springs is free for everyone.
Disney hotel perks do not apply. Free theme park parking is for Disney Resort hotel guests and select Annual Passholders. Staying in a vacation home, you pay the daily fee.
How much is parking at Universal Orlando?
Standard parking at Universal Orlando costs $35 a day, tax included, and you can prepay online. A prepaid pass is valid for all four Universal theme parks and CityWalk.
Prime. It runs $50 to $60 a day. If you prepaid, you can upgrade to Prime for $14 to $25.
Valet. Before 6 p.m., $38 for up to 2 hours and $76 to $81 for longer. After 6 p.m., $38 for up to 2 hours and $46 to $81 for longer.
Free after 6 p.m. Standard self parking is free if you arrive after 6 p.m., with three exceptions: Halloween Horror Nights event nights, New Year’s Eve (December 31) and Epic Universe, which always charges.
Volcano Bay. Universal’s water park has no lot at its door. Follow the signs to the Volcano Bay parking section and ride the free shuttle to the entrance.
Leaving and coming back. You can exit and return the same day during operating hours by showing your parking receipt or QR code plus a photo ID.
For your GPS, the main garages are at 6000 Universal Boulevard, Orlando.
How does Epic Universe parking work?
Epic Universe has its own lot at the same prices as Universal: $35 for standard and $50 to $60 for Prime. The difference is that there is no free parking after 6 p.m. here.
Set your GPS to 1001 Epic Boulevard, Orlando. Uber, Lyft and taxis use a separate drop-off at 1201 Epic Boulevard, with no parking fee to drop off or pick up.
Universal says parking is valid all day at both Epic Universe and the garages that serve CityWalk. Spend the day at Epic, drive over to CityWalk for dinner, and you do not pay twice. The official page lists valet prices but does not mention valet at Epic Universe, so if you are counting on it, check with Universal first. How to plan the day itself is in our Epic Universe guide.
How much is parking at SeaWorld, Aquatica and Legoland?
SeaWorld general parking starts at $37 plus tax when you buy online, which the park itself names as the way to save. Preferred is $47 and VIP is $62. SeaWorld does not take cash for parking at the gate.
Aquatica general parking bought online starts at $36 plus tax, with preferred at $40 and VIP at $46, and prices move with the season. Each pass says it is valid at its own park on the date chosen. If you plan SeaWorld and Aquatica on the same day, ask at the booth before paying twice. The other options are in Orlando water parks.
Legoland Florida is in Winter Haven, about 45 minutes from the Orlando theme parks according to the park. Cars start at $35 plus tax, covered spots near the entrance are $50 and valet is $55, all plus tax. Same day re-entry works with a valid parking stub, and the toll booths open about 45 minutes before the park. Whether the drive is worth it is covered in Legoland Florida from Orlando.
How much will parking cost for a week in Orlando?
A family with one car doing four Disney days, one Disney water park day and two Universal days spends $210 on standard parking: $140 at Disney, nothing at the water park and $70 at Universal.
What pushes the total up:
- Two cars. Every car pays its own fee. Two families caravanning down from Atlanta or Charlotte pay double.
- Preferred or Prime every day. Four Disney days at $60 preferred come to $240, against $140 standard.
- Different park companies on the same day. SeaWorld and Aquatica sell separate passes. Disney with Disney, and Universal with Epic Universe, fit in one fee.
Put this line in your trip budget next to the house and the tickets. Rental cars, tolls and drive times are in do you need a car in Orlando.
What are the best Orlando theme park parking tips?
Arrive before opening, photograph your section sign and budget time for the tram.
- Leave the house early. The car line at the toll plaza builds before opening, and Magic Kingdom adds the TTC plus a monorail or ferry ride. Departure times for each park are in what time to arrive at the Orlando parks.
- Snap a photo of your section and row. The lots are huge, and at night every rental SUV looks the same.
- Prepay when you can. Universal, SeaWorld, Aquatica and Legoland sell parking online. At Legoland, RVs and motorcycles pay on site only.
- Keep your receipt and bring a card. Universal asks for the receipt to re-enter, and SeaWorld takes no cash.
In practice: on Disney days, build the plan around one fee, for example one park in the morning and another at night. Put the Disney water park and Disney Springs on days when you would not pay to park anyway. At Universal, if all you want is dinner at CityWalk, arrive after 6 p.m. on a night without Halloween Horror Nights.
How does accessible parking work at the parks?
Disney, Universal and Legoland have designated accessible spaces and ask you to display a disability parking permit. Disney requires a valid permit. Universal accepts a valid placard or license plate that stays displayed at all times, and its enclosed garages have moving sidewalks, escalators and elevators. At Legoland, accessible spaces are near the entrance and cost the same as regular parking.
If your placard comes from another state, Canada or the UK, the Florida rule helps. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) recognizes plates and permits from any state or foreign country that show the international symbol of accessibility. If yours does not, you need a Florida temporary permit: form HSMV 83039, signed by you and the certifying authority, for a $15 fee, in person or by mail at a motor vehicle service center.
To spend less time on the road before the parking line each morning, browse vacation homes near Disney.
