Where to buy Disney World and Universal tickets and how much they cost?

Disney World and Universal Orlando both price tickets by date, so the same ticket can cost a different amount during spring break than in a quiet week. The prices below come from the official websites, checked on October 6, 2026, in US dollars and before tax. Use them to budget, then price your exact dates.

Where should you buy Disney World and Universal tickets?

The safest place is the official website or app of each resort: disneyworld.com and universalorlando.com. Outside those, buy only from an authorized seller.

Buying direct also helps if the weather turns. If a hurricane warning is issued for Orlando or for your home area within 7 days of arrival, both resorts have a policy to reschedule or cancel tickets bought from them. Universal sends anyone who bought through a third party to its severe weather policy page instead.

Can you buy Disney World tickets at the gate?

Yes. Disney says you can buy a theme park ticket online or at the theme park Main Entrance. At Universal, multi-day tickets bought in advance cost less than at the front gate, according to Universal itself.

Buying ahead also saves a line on day one, which matters if you are driving in from Georgia or the Carolinas and want to make rope drop. Some products, like Universal’s 14-day international tickets, are not sold at the parks at all.

How much are Disney World tickets in 2026?

A 1-day Disney World ticket starts at $119 before tax for ages 10 and up. That is the lowest date on the calendar. Peak dates cost more for the same ticket.

The standard ticket is date based: you pick a start date when you buy. On multi-day tickets the days do not have to be back to back, but they must fall inside the use window the site shows before checkout.

How much are Universal Orlando and Epic Universe tickets?

A 1-day Epic Universe ticket starts at $139.99, and a 1-day ticket to Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure starts at $124.99, plus tax. Prices vary by day.

Universal sells 2-day to 7-day tickets, and the price per day drops as you add days. It also lists new 3, 4 and 5-day Park-to-Park tickets that include all four parks every day. What is the difference between Park Hopper and Park-to-Park?

Both let you visit more than one park on the same day. Disney calls it Park Hopper, Universal calls it Park-to-Park.

• Park Hopper (Disney): move between Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom on the same day. It does not include the water parks.
• Park Hopper Plus (Disney): Park Hopper plus a set number of water park or other visits. A 2-day ticket gets 2 visits, a 3-day gets 3, a 4-day gets 4.
• Park-to-Park (Universal): move between parks on the same day. You need it to ride the Hogwarts Express between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

With young kids, one park a day is usually plenty. Hopping pays off more on short trips, or when you want dinner and fireworks in a different park.

Do you need park reservations at Disney World?

Not with a standard date-based ticket. Disney stopped requiring theme park reservations for date-based tickets starting January 9, 2024.

Other admission types can still need them, and Annual Passholders use the reservation system. Disney’s terms say reservation rules can change at any time, so check before you plan if your ticket is not date based.

Are there Florida resident tickets?

Yes. Both Disney and Universal sell Florida resident tickets with separate pricing. At Disney, residents 18 and older must prove a Florida address with a valid Florida driver’s license, a Florida state ID or a Florida-based military ID. Residents under 18 do not need proof if the adult buying is a verified resident. You can verify online at checkout and skip Guest Relations.

How much are kids’ tickets at Disney World and Universal?

Children under 3 do not need a Disney ticket. Ages 3 to 9 pay the child price, and ages 10 and up pay the adult price shown in the tables above.

How do you avoid Disney and Universal ticket scams?

Skip “partly used” tickets and anything priced far below the official site. The parks’ own rules explain why:

• Disney: the terms say tickets may not be resold. Once someone uses a ticket, the remaining days belong to that person and cannot be transferred.
• Universal: on your first entry, Universal takes a photo (Photo Validation) and uses it to validate you on later visits.
• No refunds: Disney tickets are nonrefundable, but unused ones may be moved to a new date. Most Universal tickets can be exchanged for a new date, and an extra fee may apply because prices vary by date.

In practice: decide how many park days you need in Orlando before you pick a ticket. Then price your exact dates on both official sites, because the same week can swing a lot. Buy direct, link every ticket to your account, and screenshot each confirmation number.
