Where to buy groceries near Orlando vacation rentals?

A full kitchen is a big part of why families pick a vacation home over a hotel. Breakfast at the house, sandwiches for the park and a grilled dinner by the pool all start with one grocery run. Every resort area around Orlando has a full-size grocery store nearby, so the only question is which one is closest to your house.

Where to buy groceries near Orlando vacation rentals?

Near any vacation home you will find at least one Publix, the Florida-based supermarket chain, and usually a Walmart Supercenter or a Target too. This table lists stores in the three areas with the most vacation homes. Addresses and hours come from each chain’s official store page, checked in October 2026.

None of the stores with hours on their official page is open 24 hours. If your flight lands late or you pull in after a long drive, assume the store is closed and bring what you need for the first night. Store hours change, so check the chain’s app before you head out.

Is there a Publix or a Walmart near ChampionsGate?

Yes for Publix: the chain lists three stores around ChampionsGate, Champions Gate Village on Champions Gate Blvd, Ovation on Lake Wilson Rd and Champions Crossing on Champions Dr, all open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is also an ALDI on Osceola Polk Line Rd. For Walmart, the Supercenters on N Old Lake Wilson Rd in Kissimmee and on US Highway 27 in Haines City are the options to compare. Enter the house address in the Walmart app to see which one is closer.

Where can you buy in bulk near Orlando?

Costco and Sam’s Club, but both are membership warehouses. A Costco Gold Star membership is $65 a year and Executive is $130, the rates in effect since September 2024. The Costco warehouses in the area are S Orlando, at 4696 Gardens Park Blvd, and Clermont, at 4600 Collina Terrace. Sam’s Club has a club on US 192 at 4763 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy in Kissimmee.

A few things to know before you load up:

• Weekend hours are shorter. Costco’s posted hours for Gold Star members are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekdays, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
• Same-Day delivery is for members. Costco Same-Day, run by Instacart, has a $35 minimum, and Costco says item prices are higher than in the warehouse to cover delivery. Non-members can order Costco items on Instacart.com, at higher prices.
• Buy for the trip, not the year. Whatever is left at checkout either goes home in the car or stays behind.

If you are driving down from Georgia or the Carolinas and already have a membership, a bulk run on day two makes sense for a big group. For a family of four on a one-week trip, a regular supermarket is usually enough.

Can you get grocery delivery to an Orlando vacation rental?

Yes. The big chains deliver or bring the order out to your car:

• Publix: delivery and curbside pickup are handled by Instacart. Publix says online prices can be higher than in-store to cover the service, and tips go to the Instacart shopper. Beer and wine can be delivered in Florida.
• Instacart: delivery and service fees vary. Pickup orders have no service fee. A long-distance fee applies when the address is 15 or more minutes from the store or the route includes tolls. Instacart+ costs $99 a year or $9.99 a month, with a 14-day trial, and removes the delivery fee on orders of $10 or more (service fees still apply).
• Walmart: Walmart+ is $98 a year, per the company in September 2026, and includes free delivery on eligible orders, with order minimums.
• Target: the stores in the table offer Order Pickup, Drive Up and same-day delivery through Shipt.
• Amazon and Whole Foods: Whole Foods delivery and pickup through Amazon are for Prime members. Amazon says same-day perishable grocery delivery reaches more than 2,300 cities, free for Prime members on orders over $25 in most areas. Check by the house’s ZIP code.

Are Orlando grocery stores open on Sundays and holidays?

Sundays are normal shopping days. The Publix and Target stores in the table post the same hours seven days a week. Costco is the exception, closing at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Holidays are different. Publix closes three days a year: Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. It also closes early on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, with times posted in stores beforehand. Other chains closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas in recent years too. Is there sales tax on groceries in Florida?

Not on most food you cook at home. The Florida Department of Revenue’s grocery list exempts items such as meat, produce, bread, milk, eggs, cereal, coffee and plain bottled water. Candy, prepared meals, sandwiches sold ready to eat, ice cream in pints or smaller, fruit drinks that are not 100% juice, and toiletries like soap and shampoo are taxable.

Where can you find Latin and Brazilian groceries?

Seabra Foods carries products from Portugal, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico and Spain, and lists stores at 5571 International Drive and 4169 Town Center Blvd in Hunter’s Creek. Sedano’s, a Hispanic supermarket chain, has a store at 1100 N John Young Pkwy in Kissimmee.

What should you buy on your first day?

Keep the first run small and do the big shop on day two, once you know what the house already has. What comes with each home varies, and what is included in an Orlando vacation rental explains the usual list. A short arrival list:

• water, coffee and breakfast basics;
• milk, bread, fruit and snacks for the kids;
• extra toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags, so you are not relying on the starter supply;
• dishwasher and laundry detergent, if the house is not stocked;
• sunscreen and bug spray;
• refillable bottles or a small cooler for park days.

At ALDI, bring a quarter: it unlocks the cart and you get it back when you return it. You bag your own groceries there, so reusable bags help.

In practice: on arrival, stop at the store closest to the resort for tonight and tomorrow’s breakfast only. On day two, with the fridge and cabinets checked, do one big shop early in the morning, before the heat and afternoon traffic. No car? Schedule that big order for delivery instead.
