Where to play golf near Orlando?

Quick answer

The closest courses to the vacation home areas are the two Greg Norman layouts at ChampionsGate, Reunion's three courses (only for guests in homes the resort approves) and Disney's courses in Lake Buena Vista, which are open to the public. Celebration Golf Club and Orange County National also take public tee times, and all of them rent clubs.

There are good courses a few minutes from the Kissimmee and Davenport vacation home resorts, but not all of them let you book a tee time. Everything below was checked on each course’s official site in October 2026.

What are the golf courses near Orlando vacation homes?

The closest ones to the vacation home areas are ChampionsGate, Reunion and the Disney courses. Celebration Golf Club and Orange County National round out the list if you want variety. The biggest difference between them is not the layout. It is who is allowed to play.

What is it like to play golf at ChampionsGate?

ChampionsGate has 36 holes designed by Greg Norman, split into two 18-hole courses. The International is a links-style course with generous fairways, hundreds of pot bunkers and water on every hole. At 7,363 yards, it is the longer of the two. The National is a traditional American layout that winds through 200 acres of woods, wetlands and former orange groves.

Both belong to Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, at 8575 White Shark Boulevard. Omni also runs Champions 9, a lighted 9-hole par 3 course you can play after dark, an 18-hole mini golf course and Eagles Edge, with 30 Toptracer hitting bays, a restaurant and a bar. Omni’s golf page mentions guest and resident rates and club rentals but does not list prices, so ask when you book your tee time.

If you search for ChampionsGate golf rates because you are staying nearby, note that a vacation home in the ChampionsGate community puts you right next to these courses.

Who can play the golf courses at Reunion Resort?

Only guests staying at Reunion itself, in a villa or home managed by the resort, or in a home from one of its approved rental partners. Reunion says access varies home by home even among partners, and that homes booked through other companies may have limited or no access. If golf is the reason you are booking there, get written confirmation that your specific home includes resort amenity access.

If you qualify, you get three 18-hole courses, all par 72, each signed by a golf legend: Arnold Palmer (6,916 yards, with elevation changes of up to 50 feet), Tom Watson (7,154 yards) and Jack Nicklaus (7,219 yards). Green fees are charged separately and not published. Tee times are booked by phone at 407-396-3199, and groups of more than 12 players go through the group sales team by email.

Other details Reunion publishes:

  • Callaway rental clubs are $75 per day, with 14 clubs, a bag and 2 sleeves of balls. Shoes are $15 per day.
  • The driving range costs $25 without a booked tee time.
  • Each course closes a few days a month for maintenance. In November 2026, for example, Palmer is closed on the 23rd and 24th and Nicklaus on the 2nd, 3rd, 16th and 17th.
  • The Golfzon Leadbetter Academy, led by David Leadbetter, teaches on site.

What are the Disney World golf courses and how much does it cost to play?

Disney has four courses in Lake Buena Vista, all open to the public and run by Arnold Palmer Golf Management. As of October 2026, three are open:

  • Magnolia: 18 holes and the longest at Disney, up to 7,505 yards. It was reimagined in 2023, and 11 of the 18 holes have water.
  • Palm: 18 holes, up to 6,840 yards, redesigned in 2013. It has the driving range and practice green.
  • Oak Trail: 9 holes, par 36, walking only. A good pick for beginners and families.
  • Lake Buena Vista: closed for renovation since May 4, 2026, with reopening expected in the fall. Check before you book.

Disney does not post a fixed green fee. Rates move with the season, the day of the week and the time. On the 2026 and 2027 rate chart, peak season runs from January 8 to March 21, 2027, which includes many March spring break weeks. Fall (through January 7) and spring are about 20% cheaper, and summer, June through September 2027, about 40% cheaper. Weekends and mornings cost more, and rates drop after noon. Sunset 9 (nine holes late in the day, with cart and two drinks) runs $55 to $65 through January 7, 2027. If you live in Florida, bring proof: Florida residents get 25% off the public rate. Prices do not include the 6.5% sales tax.

The cart is included in the green fee and required on the three 18-hole courses. Drivers must be 16 or older with a valid license. Each tee time takes a maximum of 4 players, collared shirts are required and denim is not allowed. Parking at the courses is free. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead to avoid a charge.

Are Celebration Golf Club and Orange County National worth the drive?

Yes, if you want a public course outside the resorts. Celebration Golf Club is in Celebration, near Disney. It has 18 holes, par 72 and up to 6,757 yards, and it was the last course co-designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr.

Orange County National is in Winter Garden, west of Orlando. It has two 18-hole courses, Panther Lake and Crooked Cat (which hosted LIV Golf in March 2023), plus the Tooth, a 9-hole walking course you can finish in under an hour. The range sits inside a 42-acre practice area, and a 40-ball bucket costs $11. Both clubs rent clubs for $59 plus tax, first come, first served, with no reservation needed.

Can you rent golf clubs in Orlando?

Yes, at every course on this list, so flying in without your bag is an option. At Disney, an 18-hole rental is $65 with two sleeves of TaylorMade balls, and shoes are $15, plus tax. Disney says it keeps more than 100 sets and does not require a reservation, but club sharing is not allowed: each player needs a bag.

If you would rather use your own set but not check it on the plane, Disney, Reunion and Omni all work with Ship Sticks, which ships clubs to the course and back home. Driving down from Georgia or the Carolinas, you can simply bring them.

Is Topgolf a good option for non-golfers?

Yes, and it is the easiest choice for a mixed group. Topgolf Orlando is on Universal Boulevard and is not a course. It has more than 100 bays on 3 floors, with balls that score themselves on the targets. Each bay holds up to 6 people, pricing is per hour per bay, and clubs are free to use. Anyone under 16 must be with a guest 21 or older at all times. For more ideas, see things to do in Orlando besides the theme parks and what to do in Orlando without kids.

Why does a vacation home work for a golf group?

Because the group stays together, splits the cost and has room for bags, shoes and golf clothes. In a hotel, eight golfers take four rooms and meet in the lobby. In a vacation home, breakfast happens early in the kitchen before the tee time, and the scorecards get settled by the pool.

For a cost reference, the median nightly price of Orlando Best Place homes with 5 or more bedrooms over the next 12 months, before cleaning and taxes, is $212. With the home full, that is $14 per person per night. How to split rooms, cars and the bill is in how to plan a group trip to Orlando. To pick an area, see where to stay in Orlando. And since four golf bags plus four suitcases do not fit in every car, read do you need a car in Orlando before you reserve one.

In practice: a group of 8 at Disney needs two back-to-back tee times, because the limit is 4 players per time. Book both together and early. If your trip falls between January and March, the priciest season, play after noon on a weekday. If the group wants Reunion, confirm the home’s access before you pay.

Homes that sleep larger groups are on vacation homes for large groups.
